Job Purpose:

The role focuses on cultivating relationships with clients to achieve targets such as net sales, margin, and profit through the development and execution of strategic business plans. A thorough understanding of retailer strategies and shopper behavior is essential to optimize Colgate-Palmolive's brand presence and strategic goals. Collaboration with Shopper Development Managers and Category Managers is key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve quarterly and annual net sales, margin, and profit objectives by constructing, executing, and leading a Joint Business Plan (JBP) grounded in customized commercial strategies.
  • Exhibit commercial insight by analyzing business performance to quickly identify challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of retailer strategies and shopper insights to enhance Colgate-Palmolive's brand positioning.
  • Collaborate with the Shopper Development Manager to create a shopper-centric, high-performing plan integral to the JBP.
  • Work alongside the Category Manager to identify growth opportunities within the category and optimize strategies for Colgate-Palmolive.
  • Oversee collaborative planning with clients, ensuring accurate forecasting of sales, volumes, and investments through effective 5P planning and monthly risk assessment.
  • Ensure proper activation and settlement of customer ledgers, financial accruals, and rebates in partnership with the Accounts Receivable and Finance teams.
  • Develop and implement a three-year strategic plan for retail partnerships.
  • Engage creatively with Colgate-Palmolive's retail marketing and brand managers to devise and implement effective business solutions that drive retailer success.
  • Build robust external networks to enhance customer engagement and identify new business opportunities and challenges.
  • Establish strong internal networks to elevate the profile and focus on retail partnerships.
  • Collaborate within the Customer Development Team to shape overall strategy and optimize team performance.
  • Proactively engage in business development initiatives within the customer development sector to influence the broader business landscape.
