Position Overview

We are seeking to hire a General Practitioner to enhance our skilled and diverse team. This role comes with the potential for partnership, making it an excellent opportunity for a motivated GP to become part of our welcoming and innovative team within a vibrant medical facility.

Our focus is on holistic, patient-centered care, collaborating with our patients and the local community to provide personalized long-term condition management. We take pride in being at the forefront of education, innovation, and service delivery, with a strong emphasis on high-quality patient care and teamwork.

Our facilities are modern and purpose-built. Our team comprises 4 Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, and a well-established nursing staff, including Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Practice Nurses, First Contact Practitioners, Nurse Associates, and Healthcare Assistants. We utilize SystmOne, Ardrens, and Accurx total triage for effective demand management.

Main Responsibilities

The post-holder will be expected to fulfill a variety of duties as per the practice timetable, including:

  • Conducting surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations, and home visits.
  • Managing repeat prescriptions and addressing queries, paperwork, and correspondence promptly.
  • Making independent, professional decisions regarding presenting health issues, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare professionals.
  • Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undiagnosed and undifferentiated conditions.
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Developing care plans in consultation with patients, following current practice disease management protocols.
  • Providing counseling and health education.
  • Admitting or discharging patients from the caseload and referring them to other care providers as necessary.
  • Maintaining clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collecting data for audit purposes.
  • Issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, minimizing hand-written prescriptions.
  • Prescribing in line with the practice's formulary when clinically appropriate.

In general, the post-holder will be expected to perform all standard duties and responsibilities associated with a GP in primary care.

About Our Organization

We are recognized leaders in Women's Health, offering a weekly Women's Health Service that includes LARC, coils, and implants, and we are committed to staying updated on menopause symptom management. We also host a Sexual Health Hub and collaborate across our network area through our PCN membership, employing Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, a Primary Care Mental Health team, Health Coaches, and a Social Prescribing team.

Our management team is supportive and enthusiastic, complemented by excellent patient services and administrative support staff. We strive to create a nurturing work environment, promote green initiatives, and prioritize personal health and well-being.

We conduct weekly team meetings, including MDT, SEA, and educational sessions, alongside informal daily lunchtime meetings for all clinical staff. Our team members are allocated dedicated CPD sessions based on their working hours, ensuring we remain at the forefront of primary care.
