Nacro is a prominent Social Justice Charity with over 50 years of experience in transforming lives, strengthening communities, and collaborating with stakeholders to reduce crime.

The organization operates the Community Accommodation Support service (CAS), a nationwide initiative across England and Wales.

This service enables Courts to utilize bail more effectively by offering community accommodation with support for adult defendants who would otherwise be unable to secure bail.

CAS also assists adults released from custody within the last three months of their sentence under Home Detention Curfew (HDC) and other License Orders.

The team provides adaptable and comprehensive support to residents with diverse needs.

Our objective is to assist residents in securing and maintaining stable housing following their CAS-2 placement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clients in adhering to their HDC/Bail conditions.
  • Creating realistic and achievable Support Plans that facilitate access to housing and accommodation services for long-term housing solutions.
  • Ensuring all Support Plans and Risk Assessments are tailored, inclusive, and centered around the individual.
  • Conducting weekly support sessions to help residents engage with their support plans and work towards their goals.
  • Assisting residents in applying for Housing Benefit to prevent tenancy risks due to rent arrears.
  • Managing properties within your designated area to ensure they meet Decent Homes Standards, including reporting repairs and replacing furniture as necessary.
  • Planning and implementing effective, person-centered Support and Safety Plans.
  • Providing weekly support sessions (up to 2 hours per week) to help residents achieve their individual Support and Move On Plans.
  • Facilitating Housing Benefit applications for each resident.
  • Completing referrals to specialized support agencies in the community as needed.
  • Liaising with partner organizations such as Probation and Prison Services, Courts, and Police when required.
  • Developing personalized support and move-on plans.
  • Understanding safeguarding principles.
  • Working with vulnerable adults facing complex challenges (e.g., substance misuse, physical health issues, mental health concerns, employment, and housing support).
  • Exhibiting flexibility to travel within your assigned area for training and team meetings, and covering other local areas as needed.
  • Proficiency in computer-based applications.

Join a dynamic and supportive team dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for the individuals we assist daily.

This role offers the flexibility to work within the community, allowing you to organize your own schedule of support sessions and property visits.

We are committed to your professional growth and development.

Enjoy excellent benefits, including generous annual leave, an occupational sick pay scheme that exceeds statutory requirements, a cycle-to-work scheme, and more.

This position requires regular travel across an assigned area; therefore, a valid driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential.

You will be eligible to claim mileage expenses from your base location at a rate of 45p per mile traveled.

An Enhanced DBS and Prison Clearance are prerequisites for this role.

We look forward to receiving your application.
