Position Overview:

The role involves overseeing the evaluation, inspection, and monitoring of structural assets. You will be responsible for identifying and prioritizing necessary actions to rectify any defects or concerns highlighted in assessment reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct examinations and assessments of structural assets to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Analyze engineering data and perform risk assessments related to asset integrity.
  • Utilize asset condition information to guide maintenance strategies effectively.
  • Assist in the formulation of enhancement projects aimed at improving asset performance.
  • Collaborate with the structures team to establish and implement best practices.
  • Identify and recommend weather-related mitigation strategies for structural assets.
  • Maintain accurate records of structural asset data within company databases.
  • Review and contribute to the development of national asset management standards.
  • Support strategic initiatives within the buildings and civil engineering sectors.
  • Provide engineering expertise during incident investigations.
  • Evaluate proposals that may affect structural assets along routes.
  • Assist in the approval process for abnormal vehicle and rail load applications.
  • Oversee the technical development of projects and manage design approval processes.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proven experience in structural or civil engineering disciplines.
  • Familiarity with engineering policies, standards, and safety management protocols.
  • Progressing towards membership in a recognized professional institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status is advantageous.
  • Membership in a professional engineering institution.
