Structural Asset Engineer

Position Overview:
The role involves overseeing the examination, inspection, and evaluation of structural assets. Key responsibilities include:
- Scheduling and conducting assessments of structural integrity.
- Identifying and prioritizing corrective actions for reported defects.
- Performing engineering analyses and risk evaluations on assets.
- Monitoring asset condition data to guide maintenance strategies.
- Assisting in the formulation of enhancement projects.
- Collaborating with the structures team to establish best practices.
- Determining mitigation strategies for weather-related impacts on structures.
- Maintaining accurate asset data within company databases.
- Reviewing and updating national standards for asset management.
- Supporting strategic initiatives in building and civil engineering.
- Providing engineering insights during incident investigations.
- Evaluating proposals that affect structural assets.
- Facilitating approvals for unusual vehicular and rail loads.
- Managing technical project development and design approval processes.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in structural or civil engineering fields.
- Familiarity with engineering policies, standards, and safety protocols.
- Progressing towards membership in a professional engineering institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status.
- Membership in a recognized professional institution.
