Position Overview:

The role involves overseeing the examination, inspection, and assessment of structural assets to ensure their integrity and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and conduct evaluations, inspections, and monitoring of structural assets.
  • Identify and prioritize necessary actions to rectify defects and issues highlighted in reports.
  • Perform engineering analyses and risk assessments on asset conditions.
  • Analyze asset condition data to guide maintenance strategies.
  • Assist in the formulation of enhancement projects.
  • Collaborate with the structures team to establish best practices.
  • Identify weather-related mitigation strategies for structural assets.
  • Maintain accurate records of structural asset data within company databases.
  • Review and enhance national standards for asset management.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives in building and civil engineering.
  • Provide engineering expertise during incident investigations.
  • Evaluate proposals that may affect structural assets.
  • Facilitate approvals for abnormal vehicular and rail loads.
  • Oversee the technical development of projects and manage design approvals.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in structural or civil engineering.
  • Familiarity with engineering policies, standards, and safety management protocols.
  • Progressing towards membership in a professional engineering institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status.
  • Membership in a recognized professional institution.
