Nature Preservation Officer

Overview
As a Conservation Ranger, you will serve as a guardian of the environment, playing a vital role in maintaining the beauty and health of our natural landscapes for both wildlife and the public.
Your work schedule may include weekends, public holidays, and evenings, with on-call responsibilities.
Work Environment
Reporting to the Property Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of a dedicated Ranger team, which includes three Rangers, an Assistant Ranger, and approximately 40 committed volunteers assisting with conservation initiatives. Your base will be at a historically significant forest, recognized for its ecological importance. The Ranger Team is dedicated to traditional conservation practices such as grazing, coppicing, and pollarding, essential for preserving the habitats and cultural heritage of the area for future generations.Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for safeguarding and nurturing habitats, wildlife, structures, and equipment. Your passion and knowledge will inspire others to appreciate and engage with the natural environment. Whenever you encounter visitors, you will take the opportunity to engage with them, addressing their inquiries and sharing insights rather than hastily moving on to your next task.
You will ensure that the conservation activities and outdoor experiences provided in your care meet the highest standards. Building relationships within the local community will be crucial, as you represent the organization and communicate the significance of the conservation work being undertaken.

- A diligent work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work safely, adhering to risk assessments and guidelines.
- Experience in land management, access, and outdoor conservation.
- Proficiency in operating machinery and equipment, with the necessary certifications.
- A valid UK driving license.
