Overview of the Position
The individual will serve as a Lead Risk Management Advisor within the Enterprise Risk Management division at Americare Senior Living of West Tennessee. This position offers significant exposure to various products and sectors, with opportunities for professional growth. The role encompasses multiple risk-bearing entities and is part of a well-established team with continuously refined systems and processes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the organization in implementing methodologies to identify, assess, quantify, monitor, manage, and mitigate all risks, including strategic risks, encountered by the business.
- Play a pivotal role in integrating the risk management framework to ensure that enterprise risk management and a robust risk culture are ingrained in the operations of Americare Senior Living.
- Contribute to the development of risk appetites and support risk owners in adhering to these guidelines.
- Collaborate with Risk leadership to empower risk owners to take accountability for their risks, facilitating discussions and challenges while providing support to ensure risks are effectively mitigated.
- Lead the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process, ensuring the upkeep of the risk register and the inventory of critical controls.
- Coordinate the Emerging Risk process, maintaining the emerging risk register.
- Assist the business in documenting and reporting risk events, conducting root cause analyses, and agreeing on management actions to enhance the control environment.
- Oversee the ORSA process and aid in the presentation of the ORSA report.
- Contribute to the establishment of regulatory capital requirements using both Internal Model and Standard Formula calculations.
- Coordinate the preparation of Risk Committees and Boards reports, aiding Risk leadership in delivering a clear understanding of the risk landscape and challenges facing the organization through appropriate reporting to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Support the business in enhancing outcomes and managing volatility through the application of risk management techniques.
- Assist in conducting risk reviews, ensuring that significant business developments are evaluated and challenged to identify and appropriately mitigate risks.
- Support the procurement of Corporate Insurances.
- Engage in other Risk-focused initiatives as necessary (e.g., Internal Model validation).
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Extensive experience in an enterprise risk management role or a closely related field (e.g., Operational Risk Management).
- Proven capability to progress to more senior roles in future career advancements.
- Strong commercial insight and a history of collaborative work across various insurance disciplines within a company, syndicate, or consulting environment: Underwriting, Executive Management, Risk, Claims, Finance, Reinsurance.
- Preference for experience in commercial non-life insurance.
- Solid understanding of UK and European regulatory requirements (e.g., ORSA, governance system requirements).
- Robust technical skills with in-depth knowledge of risk management methodologies utilized across the industry.
- Effective communicator, capable of simplifying complex issues into insightful management information and delivering presentations confidently.
- Good knowledge of insurance and reinsurance products.
- Expertise in IT systems, comfortable using Office software and data analytics tools and techniques.
- Minimum educational qualification of a degree in a relevant field.
- Professional qualification relevant to risk management or non-life insurance is preferred.
- A minimum of seven years' experience in enterprise risk management or a related discipline.
