Independent Nurse Prescriber for Neurodevelopmental Services
4 weeks ago
Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated nurse to become a part of our Neurodevelopmental Service, catering to children and adolescents aged 0-18 years.
We encourage applications from band 6 nurses eager to advance their careers as independent prescribers, as well as those who are already qualified and possess experience in this capacity.
This service specializes in comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, alongside treatment and support through our medication management pathway.
Our team is multi-disciplinary, bringing a diverse range of expertise and knowledge. We provide exceptional training opportunities and consistent supervision.
This is a full-time position.
Fluency in Welsh is a requirement for this role; however, we will consider applications from candidates who do not speak Welsh.
The successful applicant will receive remuneration in accordance with annex 21 at 70% of the top of the fully qualified Band 7 until fully qualified.
Key Responsibilities
The individual in this role will engage with children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental conditions, administering suitable medication and conducting ongoing assessments of their medication requirements, adhering to shared care protocols.
The role involves delivering evidence-based nursing and medication interventions in alignment with national standards and care pathways.
The successful candidate will also provide evidence-based nursing and psychological interventions, acting as a role model to foster the integration of outcome measures and outcome-oriented practices within the team, while supporting colleagues through both formal and informal supervision and peer support.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) focused on children and young people assessed for neurodevelopmental conditions, the post holder will collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the assessment and diagnostic processes, as well as the intervention strategies employed within the neurodevelopmental service.
The role requires working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions, exercising a high degree of autonomy and clinical proficiency in independent prescribing, assessment, and treatment.
