About the Role

The Community Liaison Specialist will play a vital part in building relationships within the community and winning the trust of the public. As the face of local policing for the community, this role ensures that we meet our policing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct highly visible foot patrols to engage with the community and identify potential issues.
  • Provide reassurance and support to the public after minor crimes or anti-social behaviour.
  • Build relationships with community, religious, and business leaders to foster trust and cooperation.
  • Work with young people and local schools to promote community safety and well-being.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform policing strategies and improve community outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to address complex community issues.
  • Develop and implement community engagement plans to promote policing initiatives and build trust.

Requirements

  • Age 17 at date of application, with a minimum age of 18 at start of employment.
  • Three continuous years of residency in the UK immediately prior to application.
  • Leave to enter or remain and work in the UK for an indefinite period.
  • GCSE Maths and English grade A*-C/9-4 or a Level 2 equivalent.
  • A full UK manual driving licence by the time of appointment.
  • Not a member of the British National Party (BNP) or other relevant organizations.
  • No tattoos that could cause offense.
  • No more than six penalty points.
  • No prison sentence.
