About This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Operations Manager to join our dynamic team within Division D at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role will focus on delivering exceptional patient care across two key areas: Cardiology (including cardiac diagnostics, cardiac rehabilitation, and cath lab) and Genetics.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning and operational management of both Cardiology and Genetics services, ensuring alignment with Trust objectives and national guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff, to optimize service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety within the services.
  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring resources are allocated strategically to meet service demands and achieve financial targets.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement through data analysis, performance monitoring, and implementation of evidence-based best practices.
  • Represent Division D in meetings and forums, advocating for the needs of our patients and staff.

  • Proven experience in managing complex clinical or healthcare services within a dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire, and empower teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, enabling effective collaboration across all levels of the organization.
  • A deep understanding of NHS policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Financial management expertise with a track record of successful budget planning and control.
