We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Department Orderly to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Operating Department Orderly, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our theatres and providing high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities
- Transport conscious and unconscious patients between acute care areas, including radiology, wards, and operating theatres, ensuring their safety and dignity at all times.
- Participate as a member of the operating theatre team, assisting in providing a safe and clean environment to receive patients during the peri-operative episode.
- Provide high-quality patient care under the guidance and supervision of the senior nurse/operating department practitioner.
- Be responsible for the storage of medical gas cylinders and other key equipment, having first undertaken the appropriate training.
- Maintain all theatre areas to a high level of hygiene following infection control guidelines.
