FM Conway is seeking to hire a Electrical Control and Instrumentation Technician for our Aggregate and Asphalt division.

Our division specializes in producing a diverse array of premium aggregates, asphalt, and concrete solutions for the UK's road network and various construction and maintenance initiatives.

As the Electrical Control and Instrumentation Technician, your primary responsibility will be to maximize operational uptime and efficiency across the Asphalt facilities, while supporting the execution of the maintenance strategy. You will also engage in activities aimed at enhancing plant reliability, operational readiness, and health & safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement electrical compliance assessments and maintenance protocols. Ensure these procedures are followed and address any issues promptly.

- Perform installation tasks and troubleshoot issues to resolve breakdowns, while also assisting with operational responsibilities at the asphalt facility.

- Contribute to the establishment and upkeep of a maintenance management system and related policies. This includes updating technical information, job instructions, method statements, risk assessments, documentation, drawings, and project lists.

- Participate in engineering initiatives, feasibility analyses, technical specifications, planning, installation, execution, commissioning, handover, and operational phases as necessary.

- Operate and maintain various equipment and vehicles to ensure safe task execution, including forklift trucks and cherry pickers.

- Take necessary actions to shut down any part of the plant if there is a risk to personnel, the environment, or machinery.

Required Skills and Experience:

We are looking for a skilled and approachable Maintenance Electrician with experience in the asphalt and aggregate sector. The role requires travel to various sites, so a full UK driving license and a flexible attitude are essential.

Candidates should possess a Level 3 qualification in electrical engineering. Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, installation skills, and comprehensive knowledge of control circuits, control wiring, and panel construction are crucial.
