FM Conway is seeking to hire an Electrical and Control Technician for our Aggregate and Asphalt division.
Our division specializes in producing a diverse array of premium aggregates, asphalt, and concrete solutions tailored for the UK's highway infrastructure and various construction and maintenance endeavors.
As an Electrical and Control Technician, your primary responsibility will be to maximize operational uptime and efficiency across our Asphalt facilities while aiding in the execution of the maintenance strategy. You will also engage in activities aimed at enhancing plant reliability, operational status, and health & safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and execute electrical compliance evaluations and maintenance protocols. You will take charge of ensuring these procedures are followed and any arising issues are addressed promptly.
- Perform installation tasks and troubleshoot to resolve breakdowns, while also supporting operational functions at the asphalt facility.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of a maintenance management system and related policies. This encompasses updating technical specifications, job guidelines, method statements, risk assessments, documentation, drawings, and project lists.
- Engage in engineering initiatives, feasibility assessments, technical specifications, planning, installation, execution, commissioning, handover, and operational phases as necessary.
- Operate and maintain various equipment and vehicles to ensure safe task execution, including forklift trucks and cherry pickers.
- Take necessary actions to shut down any plant section if there is a potential risk to personnel, the environment, or machinery.
Required Skills and Experience:
We are looking for a skilled and approachable Maintenance Electrician, preferably with experience in the asphalt and aggregate sector. A full UK driving license and a flexible approach are essential due to travel requirements to various sites.
Candidates should possess a Level 3 qualification in electrical engineering, along with experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance and installation. A thorough understanding of control circuits, control wiring, and panel construction is also necessary.
