FM Conway is seeking to recruit a Electrical and Control Systems Technician to be part of the Aggregate and Asphalt division.
Our Aggregate and Asphalt division produces a diverse range of premium aggregates, asphalt, and concrete products utilized in the UK's highway infrastructure and various construction and maintenance endeavors.
As our Electrical and Control Systems Technician , your primary responsibility will be to ensure optimal uptime and operational efficiency across the Asphalt facilities, while aiding in the execution of the maintenance strategy. You will also engage in activities aimed at enhancing plant reliability, operational readiness, and health & safety protocols.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the engineering team in designing and implementing electrical compliance assessments and maintenance protocols. You will take charge of these procedures to ensure timely execution and resolution of any arising issues.
- Performing installation tasks and troubleshooting to resolve breakdown incidents, while also assisting with operational functions at the asphalt facility.
- Contributing to the establishment and upkeep of a maintenance management framework and policies. This encompasses updating technical specifications, job instructions, method statements, risk evaluations, documentation, schematics, and project listings.
- Involvement in engineering initiatives, feasibility assessments, technical specifications, planning, installation, execution, commissioning, handover, and operational phases as necessary.
- Operating and maintaining various equipment and vehicles to ensure the safe completion of tasks, including forklift trucks and cherry pickers.
- Taking necessary actions to shut down any part of the facility if there is a potential risk to personnel, the environment, or machinery.
Required skills and experience:
We are looking for a skilled and approachable Maintenance Electrician, ideally with experience in the asphalt and aggregate sector. Travel to various sites will be necessary, so a full UK driving license and a flexible mindset are essential.
Candidates should possess a Level 3 qualification in electrical engineering. Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, installation capabilities, and comprehensive knowledge of control circuits, wiring, and panel construction are crucial.
