Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Anaesthetics Outpatient Clinics and Department Administrator. This role will provide administrative support to the Maternity Anaesthetics Outpatient clinics and the wider anaesthetic department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Book appointments and register new patients on the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system, including producing appointment letters and printed patient identification labels.
  • Enter outpatient details onto the EPR system, accurately coding clinics and ensuring all patients seen in clinic have been appropriately recorded.
  • Welcome patients attending the Maternity Anaesthetics clinic, recording arrival and departure times on the EPR system.
  • Liaise with clinical staff to ensure the service provided is of a consistently high standard.
  • Respond to queries from referrers, patients, and other relevant parties, taking action to provide reassurance and support to patients and their families.
Requirements
  • Good standard of education with a minimum of 5 'C' grade GCSEs (including English Language and Maths).
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent NHS administrative experience.
  • Competence in the use of and development of different computer software packages.
  • Proven experience within an administrative role, with a positive approach to working in complex environments.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Experience of working with the general public.
  • Methodical, conscientious, and reliable.
