About the Role

We are seeking an experienced mental health clinician to join our Mandatory and Essential Skills Training team as a Learning and Development Consultant-Clinical Skills Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design, planning, delivery, and quality assurance of comprehensive competency-based programs for multi-disciplinary staff development in a specialist mental health context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the provision of comprehensive competency-based programs for multi-disciplinary staff development relating to essential clinical risk skills in a specialist mental health context.
  • Design and deliver mandatory training relating to sexual safety and therapeutic observations.
  • Ensure the review of implementation and effectiveness of development programs in addressing specific identified learning or clinical needs.
  • Promote meaningful staff engagement in work-based learning opportunities.
  • Support the analysis of training needs and quality assurance measures for competency-based blended learning programs.
  • Provide managerial and clinical leadership in the area of responsibility.

Requirements
  • Education: Educated to degree level with a recognized relevant professional qualification in healthcare or social work.
  • Registration: Current registration with a relevant professional body.
  • Postgraduate Certificate: Postgraduate Certificate in Education or similar, or willingness to work towards.
  • Continuing Professional Development: Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Management/Leadership Development: Evidence of management/leadership development.
  • Postgraduate Qualification: Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Demonstrable post-registration experience in relevant clinical practice.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Demonstrable experience in risk assessment and management.
Skills and Abilities
  • Mental Health Clinical Skills: Proficient in mental health clinical skills, including assessing and managing clinical risk.
  • Training and Coaching: Able to train and coach others in essential mental health clinical skills.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Presentation: Able to effectively present complex information to individuals or small groups.
  • Service User Focus: Evidence of service user focus and/or co-production.
  • Workload Prioritization: Proficient in workload prioritization and managing competing demands.
  • Leadership: Capacity to provide strategic direction and leadership, encourage high standards of work, leading by example.
