Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to become a valuable member of our supportive pharmacy team.
This role is integral to our comprehensive medicines management services, focusing on mental health and community health services for adults and the elderly.
While experience in mental health is preferred, we welcome candidates eager to transition into this specialty, and we are committed to providing the necessary support during this process.
The successful candidate will participate in a Trust-wide 'out-of-hours' service alongside fellow mental health pharmacists, necessitating travel to the work base outside of standard working hours.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the clinical management of medications for individuals facing mental health challenges. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe and effective use of medications.
- Providing support to a diverse range of outpatients through clinics, community teams, and dispensary services.
- Contributing to the clinical pharmacy services across all inpatient units and the dispensary.
- Addressing inquiries related to medicines information and engaging in clinical trials and policy development.
- Delivering tailored, patient-centered pharmacy care to all service users.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Pharmacy degree from a recognized institution.
- Registered practicing pharmacist with the relevant regulatory body.
- A minimum of two years' post-registration experience as a pharmacist.
Desirable:
- Post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy.
- Post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric Therapeutics.
- Experience in hospital pharmacy and mental health pharmacy.
Skills and Attributes
Essential:

- Empathetic approach to mental health.
- Knowledge of NHS policies and guidelines related to pharmacy and medicines management.
