Clinical Psychologist/CBT Specialist

Peterborough, Peterborough, United Kingdom Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are a progressive community mental health organization dedicated to serving the psychological needs of older adults. We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist or CBT Specialist to join our team. This role offers exceptional professional development opportunities, including access to specialized supervision in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Cognitive Assessments.

Our multidisciplinary team comprises Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, and support staff, all committed to enhancing the mental health services we provide. We actively engage with trainees from various educational institutions, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

The Stepped Care Therapy Team collaborates closely with integrated health teams, memory assessment services, and social care professionals. This diverse range of responsibilities makes this position ideal for both newly qualified professionals and seasoned CBT practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Psychologist/CBT Specialist, you will be integral to our Community Mental Health Team, focusing on the psychological well-being of older individuals. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and providing tailored individual therapy.
  • Developing and implementing personalized treatment strategies.
  • Guiding the team in promoting positive mental health outcomes for clients and their families.

The role also encompasses the provision of assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions, including specialized neuropsychological assessments when necessary. You will be expected to offer guidance and consultation to colleagues outside of psychology, fostering a collaborative approach to care.

Our organization values continuous professional development, offering a robust CPD program and opportunities for additional training in areas such as CBT for complex conditions, EMDR, and DBT skills. We are also keen on expanding our neuropsychological services to enhance memory assessment capabilities.

If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults and thrive in a dynamic work environment, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
