We are seeking an experienced mental health clinician to join our Mandatory and Essential Skills Training team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.
As a registered clinical professional, you will be passionate about the development of others and have an interest in the design and delivery of mental health clinical skills training.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on provision of comprehensive competency-based programmes of multi-disciplinary staff development relating to essential clinical risk skills in a specialist mental health context.
- Design and deliver mandatory training relating to sexual safety and therapeutic observations.
- Ensure review of implementation and effectiveness of development programmes in addressing specific identified learning or clinical needs.
- Promote meaningful staff engagement in work-based learning opportunities.
- Support analysis of training needs and quality assurance measures for competency-based blended learning programmes.
- Provide managerial and clinical leadership in area of responsibility.

Person SpecificationEducation/Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level with recognised relevant professional qualification in healthcare or social work.
- Current registration with relevant professional body.
- Post Graduate Certificate in Education or similar or willingness to work towards.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Experience:
- Demonstrable post-registration experience in relevant clinical practice.
- Proven experience assessing others in clinical or simulated settings.
- Designing and delivering training using a competency-based approach to assessment.
- Demonstrable experience in risk assessment and management.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in mental health clinical skills including assessing and managing clinical risk.
- Able to train and coach others in essential mental health clinical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to effectively present complex information to individuals or small groups.
- Evidence of service user focus and/or co-production.
- Proficient in workload prioritisation and managing competing demands.
- Capacity to provide strategic direction and leadership, encourage high standards of work, leading by example.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and maintain effective partnerships in the Trust and with other organisations.
Knowledge & Understanding:
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory frameworks and initiatives.
- Awareness of NHS strategic context.
- Understanding of clinical governance practice and risk management.
- Knowledge of current clinical skills needs in specialist mental health practice.
- Awareness of relevance and importance of evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrable knowledge of specialist clinical guidelines and procedures.
- Knowledge of training and development theory and methods.
