Job Introduction

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our team as a Head of Operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead our Distribution Network in the East or West Midlands area, driving efficiency and effectiveness in accordance with industry regulations and standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate Team Managers to achieve exceptional results.
  • Set objectives, monitor performance, and take accountability for Distribution activities in the Distribution Area.
  • Develop and manage Capital and Revenue Budgets for the Distribution Area, ensuring effective expenditure control.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring high standards are met and exceeded.
  • Resolve customer complaints efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure the Distribution System is operated and maintained efficiently and effectively, in accordance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Promote good employee relations, creating a motivating and inclusive work environment.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering strategy, policy, and objectives.
  • Develop individuals to lead in accordance with National Grid values, creating a high-performing team.
  • Liaise with peers and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes for the operational business area.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry, preferably in the electricity sector.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams through change.
  • Drive performance within your team, motivating and managing others.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers, suppliers, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • A degree in Engineering or equivalent level of education is preferred but not essential.
