Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Patient Care Support Specialist to enhance the quality of care provided by our senior clinicians. This role involves both independent and collaborative work within our healthcare team, adhering to established protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive wound management, including the identification of potential infections and timely escalation to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Schedule patients for relevant clinics based on their needs.
  • Conduct baseline health assessments.
  • Monitor and document refrigerator temperatures, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Serve as a patient chaperone when necessary.
  • Perform in-house urine sample analyses, ensuring proper labeling and documentation within the clinical system.
  • Execute ECG tests as required.
  • Report any issues to the nurse team leader or practice manager promptly.

Additional Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to stay informed about current best practices in patient care and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Maintain confidentiality in all patient interactions, adhering to relevant principles.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven experience and knowledge in wound care.
  • Certification as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in patient interaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Preferred

  • Background in Primary Care or a General Practice setting.
  • Familiarity with EMIS clinical software.
  • Phlebotomy training is advantageous.
