We are seeking an experienced Consultant Clinical Microbiologist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pathology services, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical microbiology service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical advisory services for microbiology, including guidance on result interpretation and test selection.
- Participate in the duty microbiologist rota and provide out-of-hours consultant on-call services.
- Liaise with medical staff to discuss service provision and data interpretation.
- Develop and implement scientific developments and modern technology in clinical microbiology.
- Train laboratory staff, including trainee clinical scientists and biomedical scientists.

Person Specification- HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist (Clinical Microbiology)
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists by examination (Part 1 and Part 2)
- BSc in Microbiology or closely related science
- MSc in Clinical Microbiology or equivalent
- PhD in a relevant field
- Proven employment as a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist
- Experience in providing clinical advisory services, training laboratory staff, and developing scientific developments
