Job Title: Consultant Obstetrician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Obstetrician to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of junior doctors, and contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and pathways.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a proven track record of delivering excellent patient care and leading a team of healthcare professionals. You will be expected to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care pathways, clinical guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including obstetric and gynaecological services
  • Lead a team of junior doctors, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and pathways
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits
  • Collaborate with other departments and primary care to ensure seamless patient care
  • Provide educational and clinical support to junior medical colleagues and nursing staff
Person Specification
  • MRCOG or equivalent qualification
  • Full GMC Entry onto the Specialist Register
  • ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice or equivalent
  • Able to perform Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
  • MOET/ALSO or equivalent training
  • PROMPT trained and faculty
  • ATSM in Gynaecology
  • ATSM Benign Gynaecological Surgery
  • BSCCP Certified Colposcopist
  • Published research in a peer-reviewed journal
