Clinical Microbiologist Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Clinical Microbiologist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical microbiology service, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice and guidance to medical and nursing staff, as well as contributing to the development of our service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical advisory services for clinical microbiology, including guidance on result interpretation and further testing.
- Participate in the duty microbiologist rota and provide out-of-hours consultant on-call services.
- Liaise with medical staff to discuss service provision and data interpretation.
- Develop and implement scientific developments and modern technology in clinical microbiology, assessing their impact on the service.
- Deal with and resolve analytical problems in clinical microbiology.
- Train laboratory staff, including trainee clinical scientists and biomedical scientists.
- Present formal presentations, such as lectures and seminars.
- Validate assays to UKAS standards.
