About the Team

The Child Welfare team in West Essex is recognized for its supportive and innovative environment, with seasoned managers offering consistent guidance and mentorship to team members. Our practice is rooted in a systemic approach, emphasizing strengths-based, relationship-focused, and trauma-informed methodologies. The Essex Social Care Academy (ESCA) provides outstanding training resources for all professionals in the field.

This team is dedicated to working with children and adolescents up to the age of 18 who are in care, focusing on their welfare and preparing them for future opportunities. Responsibilities include formulating permanency strategies, conducting life-story work, and assisting children in various living situations.

Qualifications for Joining Our Team

  • Degree in social work or an equivalent credential
  • Registered with the relevant professional body
  • Proven ability to practice in line with professional standards
  • Experience in case documentation and application of social work principles
  • Competent in using information technology and associated systems
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary

Children & Families Focus

The position requires mobility and the ability to travel across a broader operational area, including the transportation of service users and their belongings during emergencies. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.
