About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Matron within our Acute Medicine & Older Peoples Services department at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Matron, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing our nursing teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff at all levels, ensuring the delivery of excellent patient care and the effective management of nursing resources.
  • Contribute to the implementation of our nursing and midwifery strategy, driving innovation and improvement in patient care and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Manage and develop successful teams, fostering a culture of excellence, respect, and inclusivity.
  • Take ultimate responsibility for the standard of care and services within your area, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and well-being.
Requirements
  • Experience at Band 7 or above within an Acute Care Environment.
  • Recent clinical experience in the relevant area of practice.
  • Effective budgetary management experience.
  • Previous experience of successfully introducing change and managing clinical nursing teams.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to write and implement policy documents, manage and develop successful teams, and participate in on-call duties.
