Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Assistant Manager to join our team at Clearline Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring deadlines are met, and providing exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Management: Manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring deadlines are met and providing regular updates to clients.
  • Client and HMRC Liaison: Regularly communicate with clients and HMRC to address queries and issues, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
  • Work Oversight: Oversee and review the work of junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the training and development of junior staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in tax and accounting principles.
  • Tax Return Preparation: Prepare Self-Assessment Tax Returns and Capital Gains Tax Property Returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Client Care: Maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional service, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrate expertise in tax and accounting principles, staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Supervisory Experience: Proven ability to supervise and develop trainees, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Tax Compliance Management: Assist the Tax Manager in managing tax compliance for a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of any issues.

Requirements:

  • Excellent attention to detail: Ensure precision and accuracy, striving for right-first-time results.
  • Minimum ATT qualified: Demonstrates a solid foundation in tax and accounting principles.
  • Commercially driven: Focus on delivering a high level of customer service, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Highly organised: Work in a logical, methodical, time-efficient, and accurate manner, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills: Efficiently manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of any issues.
  • Strong communication skills: Exhibit clear and effective verbal and written communication, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of any issues.
  • Independent and team player: Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively, providing guidance and support to junior staff.

  • Adaptable and eager to learn: Open to evolving responsibilities and tasks, staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
