Construction Risk Underwriting Lead

We are looking for a dedicated professional with extensive experience in the construction insurance sector to join our team as a Construction Risk Underwriting Lead.

About the Position:

Aviva Construction is committed to enhancing its construction insurance offerings for the future, capitalizing on current market dynamics and upcoming opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a proven history in underwriting construction risk, particularly in the EAR (Earthquake and Related) domain, both in the UK and internationally. Proficiency in technical underwriting and pricing for construction risks, especially within the large EAR segment, is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively manage relationships with brokers and clients. Collaborating with the Head of Construction to refine the EAR proposition is also a significant aspect of this role.

The successful candidate will be skilled at navigating a large insurance organization, engaging with various teams such as risk engineers, claims specialists, client and broker managers, and finance professionals.

As a Construction Risk Underwriting Lead, you will engage with the market, interact with stakeholders, drive growth initiatives, and mentor junior team members while showcasing leadership within the industry.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive underwriting experience in the London market, particularly in the EAR sector
  • Confident and articulate in negotiations and market representation
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with an understanding of market conditions
  • Self-motivated team player eager to mentor junior staff
  • Proficient in IT skills
