About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist to join our Clinical Pharmacy Team at the Queen Elizabeth site as a Senior Support Pharmacist.

The successful applicant will become part of a large clinical pharmacy team, working closely with the Specialist Pharmacist for Surgery, medical practitioners, and nursing team members.

As a Senior Support Pharmacist, you will be responsible for managing and supporting band 6 pharmacists and clinical pharmacy technicians, working to improve patient stay in hospital while retaining direct patient contact.

You will need to develop effective working relationships, challenge, and prioritize your own work as well as the work of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical input to the Surgical wards and demonstrate expert knowledge in the clinical specialty.
  • Deliver a service in accordance with the priorities set by the Chief Pharmacist and the Trust agreed standards.
  • Manage and support band 6 pharmacists and clinical pharmacy technicians.
  • Work closely with the Specialist Pharmacist for Surgery, medical practitioners, and nursing team members.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Pharmacist with:

  • Vocational Masters degree in pharmacy (or equivalent).
  • Completed or near completion of a postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification.
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Post-registration work experience as a pharmacist in hospital pharmacy, covering a range of specialties.
  • Previous participation in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Commitment and enthusiasm for providing high-quality pharmaceutical care.
