Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist to join our Clinical Pharmacy Team at the Queen Elizabeth site as a Senior Support Pharmacist. The successful applicant will become part of a large clinical pharmacy team, working closely with the Specialist Pharmacist for Surgery, medical practitioners, and nursing team members.

Main Duties

The Senior Support Pharmacist will be responsible for providing clinical input to the Surgical wards, demonstrating expert knowledge in the clinical specialty, and delivering a service in accordance with the priorities set by the Chief Pharmacist and the Trust agreed standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing daily clinical pharmacy services to the General Surgical wards
  • Managing and supporting band 6 pharmacists and clinical pharmacy technicians
  • Developing effective working relationships, challenging, and prioritizing work
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary teams and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Vocational Masters degree in pharmacy (or equivalent)
  • Completed or near completion of a postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Post-registration work experience as a pharmacist in hospital pharmacy, covering a range of specialties
  • Previous participation in multi-disciplinary teams and experience of teaching/presenting to other healthcare professionals/patients
