About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Complaints and Patient Support Officer, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our managers and department, ensuring that patients, carers, and families receive excellent service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the PALS team, including scanning, photocopying, and distributing correspondence, as well as using relevant software packages.
  • Draft and prepare memoranda, letters, documents, agendas, and take minutes of departmental meetings.
  • Manage calls received, ensuring they are passed to the relevant person to deal with, or take action or a message as appropriate.
  • Ensure that information is sent to enquirers and staff where appropriate, and that databases are current and updated accurately.
  • Use the Trust's risk and incident management system, Datix, to support the team.
  • Raise purchase orders, requisitions, and reconcile invoices as necessary.
  • Liaise with staff at all levels of the organization as appropriate.
  • Acknowledge letters of thanks and forward donations to the Charity.
  • Undertake all necessary training.
Requirements
  • GCSE A-C (minimum English) or NVQ Level 3.
  • Experience of administration in an office environment.
  • Experience of software packages and digital platforms.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • High level of awareness of confidentiality.
  • Able to deal with conflicting demands.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge to level 3 NVQ.
  • Can demonstrate good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Able to work on own initiative.
