Job Summary

This role provides high-quality administrative support to the management team, including responsible support in their absence, using initiative and working without supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer care, including communication with patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy.
  • Coordinate and organize patient attendance for outpatient, inpatient, and day case appointments, following local and national access policy arrangements.
  • Ensure efficient and timely administrative processes, including enquiries, following standard operating procedures.
  • Proofread clinical letters and monitor waiting times, ensuring accurate and up-to-date RTT pathways.
  • Book appointments from waiting lists and set up and update clinic and theatre bookings as required.
  • Assist and support other administrative team members, including cross-covering and dealing with telephone calls and patient enquiries.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Trauma & Orthopaedic team as a Service Coordinator/Team Leader.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate calmly, sensitively, and effectively with patients and staff.
  • Flexible and calm approach to staff and patients, with the ability to support staff through change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, experience in dealing with patients, and ability to use initiative.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet changing departmental needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability, with strong IT skills.
