Job Summary

This role provides high-quality administrative support to the Management Team, including responsible administrative support in their absence, using own initiative and working without supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing excellent customer care, including communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy.
  • Coordinating and organizing the attendance of patients to outpatient, inpatient & day case appointments in line with local and national Access Policy arrangements.
  • Ensuring all administrative processes and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner, following agreed standard operating procedures.
  • Monitoring waiting times, ensuring RTT (Referral to Treatment) pathways are accurate and up to date.
  • Booking appointments from waiting lists and setting up and updating Clinics/Theatre Bookings as required.
  • Assisting and supporting other members of the administrative team across the department or division, including dealing with telephone calls and resolving enquiries for patients, their carers and visitors.

More Detail about the Role:

We are looking for two enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join our busy Trauma & Orthopaedic team in the role of Service Coordinator / Team Leader.

You will be responsible for the supervision and leadership of either the Spinal Team or The Shoulder & Elbow Team within the Trauma & Orthopaedic service. This exciting role is challenging, fast-paced and a great development opportunity in which you will be fully supported.

As a Service Coordinator based in the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre (PEOC), you will be adaptable, patient and work well under pressure, enhancing patient care for our Spinal & Orthopaedic patients.

Working Pattern: hours per week, Monday to Friday.
