Service Coordinator/Team Leader

Job Summary
This role provides high-quality administrative support to the Management Team, including responsible administrative support in their absence, using own initiative and working without supervision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing excellent customer care, including communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy.
- Coordinating and organising the attendance of patients to outpatient, inpatient & day case appointments in line with local and national Access Policy arrangements.
- Ensuring all administrative processes and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner, following agreed standard operating procedures.
- Monitoring waiting times, ensuring RTT (Referral to Treatment) pathways are accurate and up to date.
- Booking appointments from waiting lists and setting up and updating Clinics/Theatre Bookings as required.
- Assisting and supporting other members of the administrative team across the department or division, including dealing with telephone calls and resolving enquiries for patients, their carers and visitors.

This is an exciting opportunity for two enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join our busy Trauma & Orthopaedic team in the role of Service Coordinator / Team Leader.
We are looking for candidates who enjoy working within a busy and vibrant team, are able to prioritise their workload, and who can remain calm under pressure.
Key skills and qualifications include:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, experience in dealing with patients.
- Ability to use own initiative, prioritising workload to meet changing needs of the department.
- Flexibility, excellent problem-solving skills, and adaptability with excellent IT skills.
