About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Bereavement Support Coordinator to join our team at Mary Stevens Hospice. As a Bereavement Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support and guidance to individuals and families who have experienced loss.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating the delivery and administration of bereavement care services
- Providing post-bereavement support to family, friends, and carers of hospice patients
- Delivering support in individual, family, and group settings as appropriate
- Supervising volunteers delivering bereavement care
- Working closely with all members of the hospice team to identify clients and deliver services
Person Specification
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills with awareness of the need for confidentiality
- Good listening skills with the ability to adopt an appropriate style and method of communication
- Ability to receive, understand, and convey information and ideas effectively to others
- Ability to recognise mental and physical health problems and identify when further advice is required and seek support accordingly
