About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Bereavement Support Coordinator to join our team at Mary Stevens Hospice. As a Bereavement Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support to individuals and families who have experienced loss.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the delivery of bereavement care services, including individual and group support sessions.
  • Providing post-bereavement support to family, friends, and carers of hospice patients.
  • Delivering support in individual, family, and group settings as appropriate.
  • Supervising volunteers delivering bereavement care.
  • Working closely with the hospice team to identify clients and deliver services.
  • Supporting the delivery of educational commitments and training sessions for volunteers and staff.
  • Providing case load supervision of bereavement volunteers.
  • Engaging in bereavement and psychosocial training of hospice staff and volunteers.

Person Specification

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good listening skills and ability to adapt communication style to meet client needs.
  • Ability to recognize mental and physical health problems and identify when further advice is required.
  • Good organizational skills, including time management and resource allocation.
  • Up-to-date IT skills and knowledge of local area, networks, and communities.
