JOB TITLE: Consultant in Pediatric Neurosurgery

GRADE: Consultant

DEPARTMENT: Pediatric Neurosurgery

REPORTING TO: Clinical Director and Clinical Lead

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will primarily operate within a collaborative team of established Consultants. Responsibilities will encompass the comprehensive care of both emergency and elective neurosurgical patients, addressing a wide range of pediatric cranial and spinal neurosurgical conditions. The allocation of specialized cases will be tailored to the expertise of the selected candidate. Adequate administrative assistance will be provided to facilitate this role.

Our neurosurgery division features a dynamic training framework with robust connections to specialized pediatric services. Additionally, the appointee will participate in the education of both undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as training neurosurgery residents. Strong clinical collaborations with adult neurosurgery teams are in place, promoting joint teaching and audit initiatives.

Candidates must have completed full neurosurgical training (to FRCS or equivalent) and possess subspecialty fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery.
