OXFORD UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS TRUST

CONSULTANT IN PAEDIATRIC ONCOLOGY

We are seeking applications for the role of Consultant in Pediatric Oncology within the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at our esteemed institution.

This is a newly advertised position, designed to replace an existing role within our well-established multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be part of a comprehensive service catering to the Thames Valley and surrounding areas. Collaboration with consultants and allied health professionals from various regional hospitals will be a key aspect of this role.

Interested candidates are encouraged to engage in discussions with senior team members to gain insights into the position and the department.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have specific areas of focus within the service, based on their expertise and interests. Responsibilities will include managing patients with solid and central nervous system tumors, as well as leading the neuroblastoma and/or sarcoma services. The role will also involve developing innovative care models for patients under 16 years and facilitating the transition to young adult services, in close collaboration with the established late effects service.

As an integral member of the team, the post-holder will actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to patient management discussions.

The consultant will provide oncological guidance and support to other pediatric specialists within the Children's Services and to pediatricians across the regional cancer alliance.
