Senior Indirect Tax Manager

Position Overview: Reporting to the Global Indirect Tax leader, this role is pivotal in delivering and executing indirect tax strategies across key regions including the UK, LATAM, and India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert, proactively partnering with the business on UK Indirect taxes to ensure alignment with the Group's tax strategy.
- Provide strategic support to the Global Indirect Tax Leader, offering insights and technical guidance.
- Deliver practical and commercially focused indirect tax advice on various projects and transactions, primarily emphasizing VAT while encompassing other indirect taxes.
- Establish and maintain relationships with business partners to facilitate timely communication regarding transactions with tax compliance implications.
- Guide the indirect tax reporting team within the Tax Centre of Excellence (Tax CoE) on compliance advisory matters, ensuring VAT compliance through the review of returns and identification of risks.
- Collaborate with tax colleagues across transfer pricing and direct tax, as well as with commercial, finance, treasury, and legal teams to assess the indirect tax impact on projects.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation and analysis on critical indirect tax positions, including potential tax reserves for auditor agreement.
- Lead the development and management of the Group's indirect tax policy and maintain strong relationships with tax authorities and advisers.
- Stay updated on indirect tax issues within the financial services and fintech sectors, enhancing commercial understanding to deliver VAT training to colleagues.
- Manage VAT/GST audits and inquiries raised by tax authorities, and assist with statutory audits related to indirect tax.
- Oversee LATAM and India indirect tax matters remotely, leveraging local personnel and advisors.
- Demonstrate experience in managing HMRC relationships and navigating UK Business Risk Reviews.
