Position Overview:

Role Objective:

Implement the Valeo Foods Health and Safety framework, achieving established key performance indicators and objectives at the facility. Collaborate with various clusters to ensure adherence to all legal health and safety standards and the application of best practice methodologies. Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the safety of all Valeo Foods employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring the Safety of Our Workforce

  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with all site safety systems and ensuring a secure working environment.
  • Oversee investigations of accidents and significant incidents, ensuring that lessons learned are communicated effectively.
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted safely, managing contractors and visitors appropriately.
  • Conduct and verify risk assessments.
  • Develop and sustain first aid protocols and personal protective equipment systems.
  • Collaborate with management teams to promote and implement effective EHS practices.
  • Partner with the HR department to guarantee adequate Occupational Health services are available.
  • Work with the Learning and Development Department to ensure compliance and provide appropriate EHS training that is documented and followed.
  • Foster a 'safety culture' that aligns with evolving work practices and safe operational systems.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possess a NEBOSH Diploma as a minimum qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar capacity.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage personnel, systems, and processes.
  • Established experience in people management, strategic planning, and risk assessment.
