About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical CAD Engineer to join our team at JCB, a world-class family-owned business. As a key member of our Group Electrics & Controls Excavator team, you will play a crucial role in delivering electrical and electronic engineering solutions across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate customer requirements into clear and concise technical deliverables.
  • Select the most suitable hardware platforms to meet technical and cost targets.
  • Develop prototype solutions to validate proof of concept ideas in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Create drawing release plans to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party vendors to release new components.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams and wiring diagrams.
  • Work with industry-standard development techniques, including harness clipping and bend radius.
  • Coordinate parts to support builds and ensure latest design revisions are reviewed promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of designs, revisions, and updates.
  • Drive re-use of components and approaches.
  • Support cause and effect analysis, risk assessments, FMEA, 8D, and Ishikawa/fishbone.
Requirements
  • Qualified to HND/Degree level in an electronic/software-based technology discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Tier 1 or OE sectors (on highway or off highway) with CAD.
  • Experience with ECN release and checking to drive consistent standards.
  • Experience in Siemens Teamcentre, creating parts and releasing into the database.
  • Comfortable working with electronic lab tools, serial tools, and over-the-air diagnostics.
  • Good understanding of design verification processes (DVPSOR).
  • Ability to read and digest complex information.
  • Comfortable supporting and completing cause and effect analysis.
