Main Duties of the JobThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the Healthy Child Programme, working closely with families and other healthcare professionals to identify and address health and social needs.
You will also be required to plan, deliver, and evaluate an efficient and cost-effective service for an identified population, working in partnership with other agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people, and families.

As a Health Visitor, you will be responsible for preventing ill health and promoting positive holistic healthcare for an identified population and community.
You will need to take responsibility for ensuring the physical and mental health needs of families, acting as an advocate for the client and community.
You will also be required to plan, organise, and deliver programmes of care in conjunction with the family and the multi-disciplinary team, undertaking continuous on-going assessment of children, young people, and families.
You will need excellent communication skills, a passion for public health, and good organisational skills, flexibility to meet the needs of the service, and the ability to travel independently to meet service delivery as required.
Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential Criteria- First-level registered nurse/midwife
- Specialist practitioner (Hons, B. Sc. Hons, Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing or equivalent)
- Must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle to meet the service needs
- Nurse prescriber
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Minimum 2 years post-registration experience
- Evidence of participating on a service development change
