Job Summary:
Carrington West is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team as a Highway Contract Manager for a long-term maintenance contract in the Bedford area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maximizing commercial return on the contract, driving value for money and efficiency savings, and managing subcontract accounts from procurement to final account.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximize commercial return on the contract by identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
- Drive value for money and efficiency savings in accordance with contract delivery, ensuring that all projects and maintenance schemes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Review and report weekly cost and value for money for projects and maintenance schemes, and liaise with operations to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Manage subcontract accounts from procurement to final account, ensuring that all subcontractors are paid promptly and in accordance with the terms of the contract.
- Prepare and submit monthly forecasts of the contract, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Maintain accurate records and supply them to the client as required.
- Provide commercial management and reporting in conjunction with operational managers, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Work in partnership with the client and in a collaborative manner, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Manage subcontractors from enquiry to final account, ensuring that all subcontractors are paid promptly and in accordance with the terms of the contract.
- Assist finance in compiling monthly applications for payments, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- Compile monthly CVR reports and review them with managers, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
About the Role:
This is a long-term contracting role with a major highways business, with the potential for an OUTSIDE IR35 set up. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and maintenance schemes, and to develop your skills and expertise in commercial management and contract administration.
