The role of the Governance and Compliance Manager is a critical position that requires an individual with a clinical background in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, or allied health. You will work in an environment focused on actively managing governance and assurance across a number of services, ensuring patient and staff safety remains paramount.

You will be working alongside the Head of Governance and Leadership Team, supporting arrangements for governance and the coordination of corporate and legal compliance across the organisation. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Data mapping and quality assurance
  • Incident management and support
  • Risk assessments, analysis, management, and support
  • Complaints handling and support
  • Supporting or leading operations/governance projects
  • Supporting or leading the management and development of policies and procedures
  • Supporting or leading change management
  • Cascading governance-related information internally
  • Supporting with all aspects of governance and compliance across all teams
  • Deputising for the Head of Governance

Key requirements for the role include:

  • Experience of regulatory requirements and compliance, legal interactions, procurement, insurance, and contracts
  • Able to investigate, manage, and create actionable service improvement plans through incident/deviation management
  • Experience of creation and delivery of training programmes
  • The ability to research best practices and support implementation across teams
  • The ability to manage the operational aspect of the role regarding governance and compliance
  • Holds or is willing to work towards a recognised qualification in Governance/Risk management
