About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Credit Risk Strategy Lead to oversee the comprehensive credit risk management for our small business lending portfolio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing credit risk policies and strategies that ensure adherence to all relevant lending laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain credit risk policies and strategies that align with business goals.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of credit assessment processes, including risk models, scoring systems, and underwriting criteria.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to ensure risk management initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed risk reports to executive leadership, the board, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive positive selection within the lending portfolio by influencing factors such as marketing, pricing, product development, segmentation, customer experience, and underwriting.
  • Develop and implement effective loss mitigation strategies that deliver robust performance, scale with portfolio needs, and are cost-effective.
  • Optimise the risk-return profile through strategic initiatives.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in credit risk management roles within the fintech or banking industry, focusing on the consumer or SME lending sector, with at least 5 years in managerial positions.
  • Strong knowledge of business processes with a comprehensive operational perspective of financial institutions.
  • Proven history of developing and implementing highly analytical credit risk strategies and a deep understanding of credit risk modelling, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis, algorithm development, and state-of-the-art data science tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and their impact on risk management in the fintech space.
  • Strong communication skills.
