Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research and Innovation Support Officer to join our team at the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the management of research and innovation projects and trials within the Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of research governance and coordinate the management of research and innovation projects and trials.
  • Operate efficiently to coordinate day-to-day project management arrangements and functioning of projects and trials with Chief and Principal Investigators.
  • Provide excellent administrative support within the Research and Innovation department.
  • Be a point of contact for a wide range of enquiries relating to research and innovation within the Trust.
  • Support the transition of research and innovation projects from development through to approvals and delivery.

Requirements
  • Degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience of research project management.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Trust's organization, functions, main objectives, and awareness of policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of research governance framework and NHS R&D approval processes.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Commitment to further development through training/education.
  • Project management qualification such as PRINCE2 Foundation Qualification.
  • Understanding of research funding and clinical trial methodology.
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate and understanding of the principles of GCP as defined by Welsh Government.
