Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled expert in sol-gel chemistry to join our dynamic Applied Photochemistry and Circular Economy Group at Swansea University. As a key member of our team, you will become the group's expert in Near-Infrared (NIR) processing techniques, providing training and support to new users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and process metal oxides using sol-gel chemistry techniques
  • Manage active collaborations with the University of Birmingham and drive the development of new partnerships in the field of ceramic coatings for energy applications
  • Contribute to advancing recycling and recovery methods for ceramic coatings, helping to push the boundaries of sustainable energy technologies
  • Provide training and support to new users on NIR processing techniques

Requirements:

  • Specialist knowledge in Near-Infrared (NIR) sintering and ultra-high temperature processing
  • Strong background in sol-gel chemistry and metal oxide development
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
