Role Overview:

As the Senior Manager of Global Procurement, you will be pivotal in overseeing the comprehensive Source to Contract process for indirect procurement. Your expertise will be crucial in assisting the Global Supply Chain Management and Chief Procurement Officer in executing sourcing strategies that align with category objectives. Collaborating effectively with Global Category Teams, you will guide and implement global sourcing strategies through the meticulous application of the Source to Contract methodology.

The Supply Chain Department emphasizes continuous improvement, enhancing systems, and creating efficiencies, contributing to a dynamic and varied work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute sourcing and procurement strategies aimed at achieving sustainable cost reductions, enhancing service quality, and mitigating risks.
  • Develop category strategies for assigned areas, considering customer needs, market dynamics, sourcing methodologies, business risks, and supplier capabilities.
  • Lead the implementation of new sourcing initiatives that align with business requirements and procurement objectives.
  • Conduct benchmarking and renegotiation of existing supplier contracts.
  • Finalize sourcing initiatives within a legal framework to minimize commercial risks and facilitate performance monitoring.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to enhance quality and service delivery, mitigate risks, and identify further value opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, understanding their evolving business goals and specific needs.
  • Oversee R&D expenditures in collaboration with the existing Commercial and Quality teams.
  • Manage projects related to Analytical Reference Standards, including stock control and sourcing of new standards.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant sub-categories, monitoring market changes that could impact costs and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Ensure robust processes for maintaining procurement data and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Accurately maintain supplier pricing and assist in resolving any pricing inquiries in collaboration with the Accounts team.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of five years of experience in direct and indirect procurement within operations and service sectors. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in life sciences.
  • MCIPS qualification.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in SAP and Power BI, along with advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical R&D procurement, technical services, bulk manufacturing, and packaging.
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record in leading procurement initiatives.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and implementing SAP Ariba solutions.
  • A comprehensive understanding of GMDP and quality compliance in various regions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • A self-motivated problem solver with innovative thinking capabilities.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and facilitate teamwork.
