Position Title: Paraplanner

Department: Financial Planning

Contract Type: Permanent

Reporting To: Financial Planning Assistant Manager

Role Summary:

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Financial Planner and the Client Support Team to ensure an exceptional client experience throughout the advisory and review process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality advice and service to clients.
  • Attend client meetings alongside the Financial Planner, prepare meeting notes, and conduct necessary research to support advice and reviews.
  • Work with the Financial Planner and stakeholders to achieve the team's income objectives.
  • Brief the Financial Planner on specific client matters to be addressed in meetings.
  • Engage with clients to gather information or clarify any issues.
  • Collaborate with the Paraplanning Manager and team members to share best practices.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to processes, templates, and tools to enhance client advice delivery.
  • Manage your workload effectively, setting and meeting realistic expectations for advisers and managers.
  • Contribute positively to team success through the adoption of new practices and teamwork.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other departments within Rathbones.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge by exploring new developments in tax, legal, and planning sectors.

Qualifications:

  • CII Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent (Essential)
  • CII Chartered Financial Planner status (Desirable)

Experience & Knowledge:

  • 4-5 years of experience as a Paraplanner.
  • Experience working within a team of paraplanners under a paraplanning manager.
  • Familiarity with centrally developed tools, templates, and guidance.
  • Ability to manage your own work queue and ensure the quality of outputs.
  • Strong understanding of the UK tax regime, including CGT, IHIT, and SPLT.
  • In-depth knowledge of various pension arrangements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of estate planning aspects.
